The Indian Air Force (IAF) is pursuing the development of niche technologies in the field of space-based capabilities, data linking and artificial intelligence-based decision support system.
As per IAF, the increased exploitation of the space domain will lead to increased contestation” and as “reliance on space grows, space-based assets will become centres of gravity that are likely to be targeted in war and less than war situations.
Besides, the IAF has already laid out a roadmap to add new capabilities and harness modern technology to bolster its overall combat capabilities. Also, in recent years, the IAF has been attempting to establish an agreement among the three Service Chiefs for the creation of a joint space force.
