Indian Army to Procure Aerial Observation System

The Ministry of Defence (MoD), India intends to procure Aerial Observation System for the Indian Army which can be used by Observation Post (OP) Officers and have issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the same.

Notably, the Aerial Observation System is being procured to facilitate an aerial view of the battlefield as well as assist the OP officer in correction of Aerial Observation System fire by giving suitable target grid corrections on the fall of shot.

With a view to identify probable Indian vendors who can undertake the said project, OEMs/ Vendors are requested to forward information on the product which they can offer.

Also, the MoD is desirous of licensed production of equipment after acquiring ToT in the case.

Details of ToT in terms of scope, depth and range including key technologies and materials required for manufacturing will be provided.

Further, a minimum of 70% IC will be present in the equipment.

Noteworthy, the Observation Post Officers of Artillery Regiments are required to be equipped with an Aerial observation System which can facilitate them in correction and adjustment of fire onto the target at longer ranges beyond visual capability.

At the same time, it is required that the Aerial Observation System must be capable to give near real time battle milieu updates of tactical depth to the Observation Post Officer which help him in planning the fire support which is aligned to the impending operational tasks.
