BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd, an India-Russian joint venture, is in advanced discussions with Indonesia on a deal worth $200-$350 million under which it had offered to supply shore-based BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles (also designated as PJ-10) and a version that can be mounted on warships. As of now the details with regards to the size and timeline of a potential deal is still to be finalized. However, the deal is most likely is expected to be signed this year itself.
Noteworthy, the JV bagged its first foreign deal last year with a $375 million sale of shore-based anti-ship missiles to the Philippines. Besides, Philippines is expected to award a follow-on order for BrahMos worth around $300 million with the deleveries scheduled at the end of 2023 to the Philippine Marine Corps.

BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles (also designated as PJ-10) is a short-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or land platforms. The missile flies at a speed of 2.8 Mach or almost three times the speed of sound. The per unit cost of the missile is expected to be approximately USD 5 million.
