India is considering to avoid the fresh acquisition under Project 75 I and might just go for repeat Project-75 order to Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) with DRDO proven and tested Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) system fitted into the new submarines.
Project-75 includes indigenous construction of six submarines of Scorpene design.
These submarines are being constructed at MDL Mumbai, under collaboration with M/s Naval Group, France under a transfer of technology (ToT) deal signed with France in 2005.
