Paras Defence bags Optronic Periscopes contract from DRDO

Paras Defence and Space Technologies has bagged a contract worth Rs 53 Crores for Optronic Periscopes from Instrument Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), a DRDO lab.

The contract which is for supplying Optronic Periscopes, includes installation support, for Integrated Combat System (ICS). It will be executed in two phases – a partial delivery that will be made in 2024 and the rest of the delivery by 2025 or earlier.

The contract is for supplying Optronic Periscopes, including installation support, for Integrated Combat System (ICS), the company said in a regulatory filing.

About Optronic Periscopes

The Optronic Periscopes primarily consists of:-

  • Optronic Head
  • Image Processing Unit (IPU) and Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • The Optronic Head consists of Sensor Head and Base Unit.
  • Sensor Head houses four EO Sensors i.e., Infra-Red (IR) camera
  • High-Definition TV camera (HDTV)
  • Low Light Level TV Camera (LLLTV)
  • Eye Safe Laser Range Finder (LRF)
  • Stabilization Electronics and ESM Warner antenna.
