UK purchases 1000th Landshield anti-jam system from Raytheon

The Ministry of Defence, UK has purchased its 1000th Landshield anti-jam system / unit from Raytheon UK, marking the latest milestone in the company’s efforts to defend critical GPS signals.

 Landshield is a market-leading anti-jam system.

Only the size of a hockey puck, Landshield’s lightweight, small frame and low power usage allow it to be ultra-versatile and operate on land, sea, and air.

Further, by repelling jamming and spoofing attempts, Landshield aims to ensure that it defends the GPS signals of any military system using it.

The Landshield family of products also has the distinct advantage of alerting users to the presence and location of interfering signals.

And, these alerts provide critical, real-time situational awareness intelligence to support operational success in GPS-contested environments.

Notably, Raytheon UK has developed, produced and supplied its suite of anti-jam products at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Glenrothes and Livingston, Scotland, for more than 20 years.

Last year,16,000 anti-jamming systems supplied by Raytheon UK were in service around the world on air, sea and land platforms.

About Landshield anti-jam system

The Landshield from Raytheon Technologies is a Digital GPS Anti-Jamming Protection System.

It is available in two variants – one with a 4-element CRPA and the other with a 7-element CRPA.

Both Landshield variants work against a full range of hostile jammers – including narrowband, broadband, continuous wave pulse, swept, and spectrally matched – and can protect L1 and L2 GPS frequencies simultaneously for enhanced situational awareness.

This system can interface with standalone GPS receivers or those integrated within communication, inertial navigation, sighting, vehicle, or weapon-aiming systems.

Also, it is suitable for military, critical national infrastructure, maritime, government, and avionics where low Size, Weight and Power constraints are key.
