DPSU Troop Comforts receives RFP from Indian Army for its indigenously developed military gear

India’s Defence Public Sector Unit (DPSU) Troop Comforts Ltd (TCL) has reportedly received a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a number of its indigenously developed military gear.

The RFP has been received from the Northern Command of the Indian Army.

Besides several of its high-end products are also undergoing field trials by the Eastern Command of the Indian Army.

Among products being developed by the company are mountaineering boots and crampons, ice pitons, hammer pitons, high altitude sleeping bags and multi-purpose bags, besides clothing items.

Noteworthy, Troop Comforts Limited is an Indian state-owned defence company, headquartered in Kanpur, India established in 2021 as part of the restructuring and corporatisation of the Ordnance Factory Board into seven different Public Sector Undertakings.

The TCL has four manufacturing units located across the country and besides catering to the requirements of the defence personnel, including those in the Ministry of Home Affairs forces.

Additionally, it also supplies to the police of various states.

Its range of products includes clothing items, accessories and technologically advanced products to equip personnel serving in environmental conditions from -50 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius – from glaciers to deserts.
