The ballistic protection should conform to the provisions of Standard as per AIS-007 (Rev 5)/ NIJ level III/ BPR&D Norms. In addn, in the course of ballistic protection test of the veh, striking velocity of 838 + 15 M/S of the most severe ammunition should be ensured.
(a) All Sides. The vehicle shall be protected against 7.62 x 51 NATO Ball SLR, 7.62 x 39 (AK 47) and 5.56 x 45mm from a distance of 10 Mts.at 900 angle of attack from all sides.
(b) Top. The roof of the vehicle be protected against 7.62 x 51 NATO Ball SLR, 7.62 x 39 (AK 47) and 5.56 x 45mm from a distance of 10 Mts .at 450 angle of attack.
(c) Underbelly Protection. The vehicle shall be protected against 2 simultaneous hand grenade blasts of HE36/M36 or eqvt intensity under the belly near wheel and centre portion of the belly.
(d) Transparent Armour. The Glasses of the vehicle (including front and sides) shall be protected against 7.62 x 51 NATO Ball SLR and 7.62 x 39 (AK 47) and 5.56 x 45mm from a distance of 10 Mts. at 900 angle of attack.
