Armenia seeks to know India’s expertise in modernizing Russian weaponries

Armenia is interested in India’s expertise in modernizing Soviet and Russian-era weaponries / defence equipment and integrating them with Western systems.

The country has several Soviet and Russian-designed equipment in its inventory, and want to learn from India’s experience, as India has successfully modernised Soviet and Russian era defence items.

It is wroth mentioning that the India-Armenia political relations are marked by warmth and cordiality.

The two countries have understanding and convergence of views on several issues of mutual interest.

Further, it has also been reported by the Armenian media that the country is exploring joint ventures, training, and military cooperation to enhance their defence capabilities.

Notably, recently Armenia has bought military radars from India.

Also, Russia previously has granted Armenia a $200-million loan to purchase Russian weapons and modernize its army.
