It has been reported that India is in talks with as many as eight countries for exporting the Brahmos supersonic missile.
These are friendly nations located in Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa. Some of these includes of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Rather, the negotiations with them are at advanced stage; it is almost pre-contact work.
Noteworthy, In January 2022, the Philippine Defence Ministry and BrahMos concluded a $375 million contract for the supply of ground-based anti-ship missile systems.
The contract also includes training for operating personnel and a logistics support package. The deliveries of the missiles are slated to begin by the end of 2023.
Besides, the country is also reportedly considering a follow-on order of around $300 million.
Further, Brahmos Aerospace is in advanced discussions with Indonesia on a deal worth between $200-$350 million under which it had offered to supply shore-based BrahMos missiles and a version that can be mounted on warships.
The company has been in protracted negotiations with Indonesia. The deal could be in place within the year.

BrahMos supersonic cruise missile (also designated as PJ-10) is a short-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or land platforms.
The missile flies at a speed of 2.8 Mach or almost three times the speed of sound. The per unit cost of the missile is expected to be approximately USD 5 million.
