The DefSAT Conference & Expo 2023 – India’s First International Defence and Space conference and expo – took place at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. It was a wonderful, very informative, thought provoking and a totally intriguing event!
Thank you, Satcom Industry Association – India for organising this much required event and making thedefencespace DS a part of it. We at thedefencespace are really proud to have been part of such a ‘one-of-a-kind’ initiative organized by SIA in the space sector.
The conference successfully brought together high-level government representatives, key industry, and academia to discuss, deliberate and exchange ideas, viewpoints, and knowledge about space domain, with a focus on innovation, thought leadership, and disruptive technologies. The conference indeed created a right platform for organisations with a keen interest to boost India’s military space capability and plans.
This DefSAT initiative aims to establish a common roadmap for the space and defence sectors. This effort will be achieved through cyclic debates that will be held every six months, to ensure continuous progress towards the goal.
The event focussed on delivering space domain awareness and satellite communications to enhance military operations, while also addressing issues related to securing funding for new space capabilities, expanding international partnerships, and developing a defense space strategy in line with the national space strategy.
