China delivers 2 more naval frigates to Pakistan

China has delivered two more naval frigates – Type 054A/P frigates – to the Pakistan Navy in addition to the two delivered earlier, completing the order for four ships.

Earlier in June 2018, Pakistan had signed a contract with the China Shipbuilding Trading Company Ltd. (CSTC) for the delivery of two Type-054 A/P frigates in 2017.

A deal for two more additional frigates was signed in June 2018. The terms of the deal and the price of the ships were not revealed.

As of now, all four warships of this class have been commissioned into the Pakistan Navy.

These vessels will be used to safeguard the seas of the China-Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC).
