Brief Details: Air Force Station Palam, on behalf of Indian Air Force, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, intends to indigenously develop Radar Control Unit (RCU) which is used to provide a computerized control and monitoring interface between the Radar computer and Antenna sub systems.
The RCU (Radar Control Unit) provides a between the RC and computerized control and monitoring interface the Antenna Subsystem, to enable the RC to control the operation of the Antenna Subsystem’s components and received their indications.
The RCU therefore serves as the main controller of the Antenna Subsystem, which is connected to all the subsystem’s components (BCU, CU, PCU, INS/GPS, DCS, PDU, IFF, ANT-PS 1+3, RLCU and antenna temperature sensors) as well as to various components of the Aerostat system, for delivery of control commands and reception of indications and status reports.
Commands from the RC to the Antenna Subsystem are processed by the RCU and are implemented by sending control signals and communication messages in the required formats to the various destinations. Indications and reports read from the components of the Antenna Subsystem are processed by the RCU and are sent to the RC at the opposite direction.
