Ordnance factory Chandigarh (OFCd), a part of India Optel Limited (IOL), is a 100% Government of India owned DPSU working under the aegis of Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. OFCd has a broad and versatile production base with multi-technology capabilities and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. OFCd supplies various electronics and vision systems, Communication Cables, Cable Assemblies and different types of Cable Harnesses for T-72 & T-90 Tank, BMP-II & BMP-IIK tanks, BLT Tanks and Armoured Ambulance etc.to the Indian Armed Forces and other security forces.
This EOI is being issued for selection of partner for collaboration agreement for design, development, proof of concept, production and supply of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enabled Manned Unmanned Teaming – Tanks and Drones. The mechanised forces operate in varied terrains which exhibit different characteristics and require detailed reconnaissance of the area of operations. There is a need of an aerial platform/ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) capable of operating by day/night and enabled with autonomous flight characteristics for real time information to the tank crews. Further it should provide AI enabled analysis and detection of objects of interest/ targets. This can be achieved by having a micro-UAV capable of taking-off from tank turret, autonomously operating and giving information of area ahead. The UAV is proposed to relay information and be capable of operating in hostile environment.
There is a requirement of incorporating AI enabled autonomous UAVs to provide real-time information to tank crews of the area ahead.
The EOI seeks response from prospective collaborators, who are willing to be associated with OFCd through a technology collaboration agreement for design, development, proof of concept, production and supply of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enabled Manned Unmanned Teaming – Tanks and Drones and Surveillance system based on integration of GIS, Day & Night Vision devices, Drones with mutually beneficial work share arrangement. Entities from a country which share land border with India are not eligible to participate.
