Indian Navy planning to procure Four 1000 Ton Self Propelled Fuel Barge

The Indian Navy (IN) is planning to procure Four (04) 1000 Ton Self Propelled Fuel Barge under Buy (Indian-IDDM) from registered Indian Shipyards.

With a view to identify probable shipyards who can undertake the construction of 04 x 1000 Ton Self Propelled Fuel Barge, the Navy has issued a RFI.

The Shipyards are requested to forward information as sought in this RFI.

The tentative delivery schedule for delivery of the Vessels to IN at Mumbai (1st Barge), Karwar (2nd Barge), Porbandar (3rd Barge) and Port for 4th Barge will be intimated subsequently after conclusion of contract including the build strategy.

Further, the first Fuel Barge is expected to be built and delivered within 18 months of the effective date of Contract, with delivery of subsequent Fuel Barges at an interval of three months each.

The aim of seeking this RFI is also to finalize the specifications for the Fuel Barges with inputs from the Shipyards.

The Vessel will be operated by Manpower/ Crew, and the maintenance of the Vessel post guarantee period will be carried out by Naval Dockyards/ Naval Repair Yards.

Also, the training to IN personnel on operation and maintenance is to be imparted by the Shipyard/ Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)of equipment at Shipyards/ OEM premises and (or) IN premises.

Noteworthy, the procurement of the Vessel will be as per DAP 20, and accordingly shipyards are required to submit the details regarding Indigenous Content (IC).

The categorisation for the procurement is intended to be under Buy (Indian – IDDM).

Further, the Vessel must meet the minimum Indigenous Content (IC) parameter which is ≥ 50%.

Last date of acceptance of filled RFI response is 08 weeks (05/01/24).
