Indian Army requires six quantity each for Automated Tuning Device and Antenna Automatic Matching Device for SMERCH. Filter automated tuning device, is used in Radio set P-171 M communication means of main eqpt Smerch. The filter automatic tuning device located in the filter unit is intended for tuning the tunable filter to a preset frequency. The mechanical and electrical tie-in of all sections of the variable capacitance circuits in the filter unit makes it possible to perform the automatic tuning to a preset frequency against the maximum voltage across the reference resonant circuit (L10, C12, C13, Cl4) of the filter.
