Brief Details: The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, intends to procure approximately 1500 High Mobility Vehicle 6×6 General Service (HMV 6×6(GS)).
The vehicle will be used for transportation of heavy equipment/ stores including ammunition on metalled roads and tracks (Desert tracks/ unmetaled road/ Kachha tracks).
Further, the vehicle will be provided with 6×6 drive and be capable of operating as a General Service High Mobility load carrier with payload capacity of not less than 8000 Kg in cross-country terrain.
Also, the platform should facilitate modification for other uses including troop carriage, carriage of container on the flatbed, gun towing and any other specialist role.
Operational Requirements. The vehicle will be used for transportation of heavy equipment/ stores including ammunition on metalled roads and tracks (Desert tracks/ unmetaled road/ Kachha tracks).
Besides, the vehicle will be provided with 6×6 drive and be capable of operating as a General Service High Mobility load carrier with payload capacity of not less than 8000 Kg.
Terrain Conditions. HMV 6×6(GS) will be employed for cross country (off road) operations in under mentioned terrain conditions: –
(a) Plain and desert terrain as obtained along Western Borders of India.
(b) High Altitude / Mountain terrain upto 5000 m as obtained along Northern Borders (Eastern Ladakh/ Central Sector / North Sikkim) of India.
