IAF aircraft performs air-to-air refuelling of Egyptian Jet

The Indian Air Force (IAF) IL-78 air-to-air refuelling aircraft refuelled aircraft from the Egyptian Air Force during Exercise BRIGHT STAR-23

Notably, Exercise BRIGHT STAR-23 is a biennial multilateral tri-service exercise at Cairo (West) Air Base, which started on 27th August and will culminate on September 16 2023.

Worth mentioning that this is for the first time that IAF is participating in Exercise BRIGHT STAR-23 which will also see participation of contingents from the US, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Qatar.

The IAF contingent will consist of five MiG-29, two IL-78, two C-130 and two C-17 aircraft.

Further, the exercise is also joined by personnel from the IAF’s Garud Special Forces.

The IAF transport aircraft will provide airlift to approximately 150 personnel from the Indian Army.
